If you have Apple devices like an iPhone, iPad, Macbook, and more. They are all linked together with your Apple id. Your Apple id is used to sign in to any online service from Apple such as iCloud, iMessage, and more. But if you set up your Apple id a long time ago, you might have used an email address that you no longer use.
It can be quite inconvenient if the email address associated with your Apple id is not the one you use. Because that is the email address Apple will use to send you security notifications and other important updates. Fortunately, you can quite easily change your Apple id email address in just a few simple steps.

How Do You Change Your Apple Id
To change your Apple id, you’ll need to open a web browser on your computer and go to https://appleid.apple.com/.
If you’re not signed in, type in your current apple id email address, click the arrow to reveal the password box. And then put in your password.
Hint: don’t worry if you’ve forgotten your password. As long as you are signed in on one of your Apple devices, it’s very easy to reset.
You will probably now be asked to answer some security questions, type in your answers, and then click continue. If you can’t remember the answers to your security questions, don’t worry, just click “Reset Security Questions” and follow the prompts to reset them.
Now that you’re signed in to your Apple id, you can finally begin changing your email address. First, click on the “Edit” button next to your email address.
Then click on “Change Apple Id” under your email address.
Then, in the box that appears, type in your new email address that you want to change your Apple id to be. And click “Continue“.
You’ll then receive an email to your new address with a verification code to verify that the new email address is correct.
Once you’ve received the code, go back to Apple and type the code into the boxes. Then click “Continue“.
That’s it, you’re all done. You will now receive an email letting you know that your Apple id has been changed but there’s nothing more you need to do. While you’re in there, you might also want to update your password or security questions. But that’s completely optional.
Once you’ve completed this process, you might need to sign back into all your Apple devices. If you do need to sign in, you’ll be prompted to do so when you next turn on your device. Don’t worry, just tap “Sign In” and enter your new email address (and password if you changed it).
So there you have it, it turns out it’s actually a lot easier than you might think to change your Apple id email address. I would definitely recommend keeping your address up to date as it’s really quite quick and easy to do and can save you a lot of trouble in the long run.
