How To Rename A File On A Chromebook
To rename a file on your Chromebook, all you need to do is find the file you want to rename in the files app.
And then, right click on the file to bring up a menu.
Then, in the menu that appears, click “Rename”.
Now, the current name of the file will be highlighted…
And you can just start typing whatever you want to change the name to.
Just make sure that you keep the file extension at the end of the name (eg: .jpg, .png, .pdf, etc), otherwise your Chromebook won’t know what the file is.
Then, once you’re happy with the new name you’ve typed, simply press the enter key on your keyboard and the new name will be saved!
It’s as simple as that!
Pro Tip:
If you select the file you want to rename and use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Enter instead of right clicking on it, you’ll be able to rename files slightly faster.
How To Rename A Folder On A Chromebook

And you can just start typing the new name you want to give the folder.
Then, once you’ve typed the new name, just press the enter key on your keyboard and the folder will be renamed!
