Then, in the menu that appears above the send button, click “Schedule send”.
Now, a box will pop up on the screen with several preset options:
- Tomorrow Morning (Sends the email at 8AM the next morning)
- Tomorrow Afternoon (Sends the email at 1PM the next day)
- And Monday Morning (Sends the email at 8AM on the next Monday)
If any of these prest times are good for you, you can just click on the one you want, and your email will be scheduled!
But, if you want to send your email at a more specific date and time, you’ll just need to click “Pick date & time”.
Now, you’ll get a calendar where you can choose the exact day you want your email to be sent. And next to that, there will be a box where you can type the exact time you want it to be sent.
So go ahead and chose the date and time that you want your email to send at, and then click “Schedule send” when you’re done to schedule your email.

How To Cancel A Scheduled Email In Gmail
So that’s all great! And now your email will automatically send at your chosen date and time. But if you suddenly realize you made a mistake in the email, or you no longer want to send it at all, it is actually possible to cancel the scheduled email as long as you do so before the time it’s scheduled to send.
So first, I’m going to show you how that’s done on the Gmail website on a computer, and then I’ll show you how it’s done on a phone or tablet in the Gmail app.
On The Website
To cancel a scheduled email on the Gmail website on your computer, you’ll just need to find the folder called “Scheduled” somewhere in the menu on the left hand side of the screen, and click on it to view your scheduled emails.
Now, you’ll see a list of all your scheduled emails that are waiting to send, and you’ll need to click on the one you want to cancel.
Now, you’ll just need to click “Cancel send” and the email will no longer be scheduled.
Now, the email will be turned back into a draft email and be saved to your drafts folder.
So from here, if you no longer want to send the email at all, you can simply delete the draft and be done with it. Or, if you just want to make a few changes to the email before it’s sent, you can make those changes now, and then re-schedule it.
In The App
To cancel a scheduled email in the Gmail app on a phone or tablet, all you’ll need to do is tap on the three horizontal lines in the top left hand corner…
And then, somewhere in the menu that appears, you’ll find a folder called “Scheduled”, and you’ll need to tap on that folder to open it.
Now, you’ll see a list of all your scheduled emails that are waiting to send, and you’ll just need to tap on the one you want to cancel…
And tap on “Cancel send” to cancel it.
Now, the email will be unscheduled, and it will turn into a draft in your drafts folder.
So from here, you can now delete the draft if you no longer wanted to send it at all, or you could edit the draft and then re-schedule it if you just wanted to make some changes to it before it sent.
And that’s all there is to it! So whether you wanted to schedule an email to send from your computer, phone, or tablet, you now know how it’s done and how to cancel the scheduled email if you ever need to.
