If you often type on a Chromebook, you’ve no doubt at some point tried to turn on caps lock so that you can TYPE SOMETHING IN ALL CAPS, only to find that there’s no caps lock key like you would find on a Windows or Mac computer.
But don’t worry, while there isn’t a capslock key on a Chromebook, you can still use caps lock quite easily with a keyboard shortcut, and today, that’s exactly what I’m going to show you how to do.

How To Enable Caps Lock On Your Chromebook
To enable caps lock on your Chromebook, all you need to do is press the “alt” key on your keyboard, and the search key at the same time as shown in the image below.
(This key will have a circle icon with a ring around it instead of a search icon if you’re using a Chromebook that’s made by Google, but it will still do the same thing.)
And then, you’ll see a caps lock icon appear with the other icons in the bottom right hand corner of the screen, and that means caps lock is turned on.
So now, if you type something, it will be in all caps.
How To Disable Capslock On Your Chromebook
Now, I’m guessing you don’t want to type everything in all caps for the rest of your life, so when you’re finished typing in caps, you can disable caps lock by pressing the same two keys again (alt + search).
And then, the caps lock icon will disappear from the bottom right hand corner, and anything you type now will go back to being in lower case.
And that’s all there is to it. So now, next time you want to type in all caps on your Chromebook, you won’t have to hold down the shift key while you’re typing!
