How To Pin Apps To The Shelf
To pin an app to the shelf on your Chromebook, you’ll first need to find the app you want to pin. To do that, click on the circle icon in the bottom left hand corner of the screen…
And then, click on the up arrow to open the app launcher.
Now, you’ll just need to find the app somewhere in this menu. And when you find it, right click on it (two finger click on a trackpad).
Now, a menu will appear next to the app, and in that menu, you’ll need to click “Pin to shelf”.
And that’s all there is to it! Now, if you look at the bottom bar, you’ll see the app you pinned has been added there!
Now, that icon will always be there regardless of whether or not the app is currently open, and you can very easily open it any time you want by just clicking on the icon.
How To Remove Apps From The Shelf
So now that you know how to add apps to the bottom bar, you’ll probably also want to know how to remove apps from it.
Whether you’ve changed your mind and no longer want the app you pinned to be there, or you want to unpin one of the default apps to make more space for apps that you actually use, I’m going to show you how to do it now.
All you have to do is right click on the app you want to unpin (two finger click on a trackpad)…
And then, in the menu that appears, click “Unpin”.
And now, that app will be removed from the bookshelf.
And that’s all there is to it! So whether you call it the bottom bar, bookshelf, or taskbar, you now know how to add all your favourite apps to the bar on the bottom of the screen, and how to remove the ones you don’t want just as easily.
